As you already aware from my previous post, this kit has some pretty interesting innovation around the way its head is constructed. Let us have a closer look at the assembled model (as always, not painted at this stage).
First of all, it should be noted that this Rick Dom is slightly shorter than its “little” brother – Rick Dom II (this fact is compensated by the length of its bazooka
– I simply could not resist commenting on it… again
). Also, its general appearance leaves the impression of a hunched one.
But enough talking, see for yourself (click on the pictures below to see their larger versions):
…and a couple of shoots from the back:
I do not know about you, but in my opinion, this Dom looks “unclattered”, which is good
Colour guide
With Rick Dom or Dom (this does not really matter) you will need to mix and use 8 different colours:
As always, simply follow the number on a coloured square above (and do not forget to correct me if you find anything wrong with my translation):
- Legs, arms and “belt” armour: Purple (70%) + White (30%)
- Upper body and Jetpack: White (50%) + Black (30%) + Cobalt Blue (20%) + a little bit of Red
- Lower body, ”skirt”, feet and shoulder armour: Black (90%) + Midnight Blue (10%)
- Joints: Neutral Gray (90%) + Black (10%)
- Weapons (bazooka): Medium Blue (60%) + Neutral Gray (30%) + Red (10%)
- Face “rim”, internal sufrace of thrusters and shoulder armour: Red (100%)
- Heat sabre (blade) and scattered beam cannon (in Dom’s chest): Yellow (80%) + White (20%)
- “Radar” sensors in bazooka: Pink (100%)
Conclusion
With its clean lines and tough appearance, this kit definitely deserves a place on your shelf. Add to this the ingeniously constructed “eye” and ability to build two different models out of a single kit and you may have difficult time explaining to yourself why you still have not got it
