MS-09 Dom/MS-09R Rick Dom (2006 version) – Assembled

Friday, February 6th, 2009

As you already aware from my previous post, this kit has some pretty interesting innovation around the way its head is constructed. Let us have a closer look at the assembled model (as always, not painted at this stage).

First of all, it should be noted that this Rick Dom is slightly shorter than its “little” brother – Rick Dom II (this fact is compensated by the length of its bazooka :) – I simply could not resist commenting on it… again :) ). Also, its general appearance leaves the impression of a hunched one.

But enough talking, see for yourself (click on the pictures below to see their larger versions):

MS-09 Dom/MS-09R Rick Dom (2006 version) – Introduction

Giving you the review of the next kit back-to-back with Rick Dom II was an easy decision to make – after all, this one is Dom II’s predecessor that was for some reason released 2 years later.

Now, what is it about MS-09 Dom and MS-09R Rick Dom that’s written on the box? Will you find TWO kits inside? Well, not really – the bulk of 115 plastic parts in the box will build a body that is pretty much the same for both mech. Only 15 out of those are unique for MS-09 Dom and 16 for Rick Dom.

UC :: MS-09R-2 Rick Dom II (2004 version) – Assembled

Finally, I’ve got to write this post. Apologies for the long silent 6 months to everyone, who came back for more… and did not find it.

So let’s get back to Rick Dom II – you can see what it looks like once assembled (again, no stickers and paint applied) on the pictures below. What I especially like about it – is its overall build – this easily makes Rick Dom II the best looking one among all other Doms in existence. Additional fuel tanks on its back perfectly balance Dom’s silhouette and the absence of spare ammunition clips scattered everywhere (as is the case with MS-09F) also adds to a very “clean” and mean look:
